Wytec Files Patent Applications for AI Gunshot Detection Technology

Wytec International, Inc. (OTCQB: WYTC), an AI 5G company, has filed five new patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its proprietary AI gunshot and sensor technology. The applications, submitted on September 30, 2024, seek both national and international protection for the technology, which is based on Wytec's existing small cell LPN-16 patents.

The company's move comes in response to the alarming rise in school shooting incidents in the United States. Between 2018 and 2023, over 1,200 such incidents occurred, resulting in more than 1,000 victims. Wytec's technology aims to address this critical issue by providing school administrators with comprehensive dashboard access to visual, auditory, and airborne biological and chemical detection capabilities, including COVID-19 detection.

The patent applications cover various aspects of the technology, including a smart sensor system for threat detection, methods for detecting and communicating threats, and artificial intelligence processes for firearm discharge detection in different environments. One application specifically focuses on threat detection based on vocal phrase recognition.

Wytec is currently finalizing its gunshot/sensor solutions for 43 Texas Independent School Districts that have requested inclusion in the company's Gunshot Pilot Program. This initiative could potentially revolutionize school safety measures across the state and beyond.

The company's global patent and IP portfolio is managed by Dentons US LLP, the world's largest law firm, which has been consistently ranked as a top intellectual property law firm. This partnership is expected to bolster Wytec's efforts to expand and safeguard its intellectual property on a global scale.
