Delta Air Lines Is Giving Its Employees a $1.5 Billion Reward (Business Insider)
Delta Air Lines announced on Friday that its 80,000 employees will receive $1.5 billion in profit-sharing. According to the airline, this is the largest amount ever paid out in the history of profit-sharing programs. For Delta’s employees, individuals will receive the equivalent of 21% of their annual compensation. Read more.

Among a host of new reforms designed to loosen the more stringent regulations in the country’s labor market, France’s labor minister, Myriam El Khomri, is including a provision that would give employees the right to ignore professional emails and other messages when outside the office. It would essentially codify a division between work and home and, on a deeper level, between public and private life. Read more.

Top 10 Workplace Discrimination Claims in 2015
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) released breakdowns of the 89,385 charges of workplace discrimination that the agency received in fiscal year 2015. Retaliation charges increased by nearly five percent in 2015 and continue to be the leading concern raised by workers across the country. Disability charges increased by six percent from last year and are the third largest category of charges filed. Read more.

Feb. 22 marks the Lantern Festival which traditionally ends the Chinese New Year period. While there is no public holiday, this important festival dates back over 2,000 years to the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). The Festival’s activities include watching red lanterns and fireworks, guessing lantern riddles, performing folk dances, and eating yuanxiao, a dumpling ball made of sticky rice flour stuffed with different fillings.
