10th Anniversary of HWPL World Peace Summit Highlights Global Commitment to Peace

The 10th anniversary of the HWPL World Peace Summit, held under the theme 'Creating World Peace Community Through Regional Collaboration', celebrates a decade-long commitment to global peace and sets the stage for future strategies to promote harmony worldwide. This event, hosted by the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), brings together global leaders and citizens to reflect on past achievements and plan future initiatives.

In 2014, HWPL, an international peace organization, launched the inaugural World Peace Summit in Seoul, attracting over a thousand leaders from politics, religion, women's groups, youth organizations, and the media from around 140 countries. The summit focused on conflict resolution, religious harmony, and implementing legal measures for lasting peace.

The 10th-anniversary event aims to gather regional talents and establish networks essential for tailored peace strategies. Various sessions will be held in different countries to strengthen regional networks, tackle local peace threats, and harness collective capacities. Under the slogan 'Let's have everyone become a messenger of peace', HWPL advocates for individual responsibility in promoting peace at all levels. Messages of peace from people worldwide will be collected and revealed during the event, representing a global desire for unity and peace.

Over the past decade, HWPL and its global partners have addressed challenges such as military tensions, economic disputes, climate change, and cyber security threats through enhanced regional cooperation and collective action. The organization has dedicated itself to establishing a robust peace governance framework that connects international organizations, governments, and civil societies.

Reflecting on the 9th Anniversary in 2023, Chairman Lee Man-hee of HWPL questioned the sacrifices of young lives in war, emphasizing that peace cannot be achieved through words alone. He stated, 'If peace had won in this world, there would have been no regrettable deaths. We must leave peace as a legacy to the global community where our descendants will live.'

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) continues its mission of global peace and cessation of war. Registered with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and associated with the UN Department of Global Communications and the UN Economic and Social Council, HWPL carries out peace activities worldwide. Partnering with the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), HWPL leads an international peace movement transcending national, cultural, and ideological boundaries.

HWPL's ongoing peace activities aim to assure sustainable peace for future generations, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through forums, education, volunteer work, and campaigns.
