The DFW Car & Toy Museum in Fort Worth is currently showcasing a stunning example of American automotive history with the display of a 1930 Ford Model A five-window coupe, transformed into a high-performance hot rod. This vehicle, part of the Ron Sturgeon Collection, is a testament to the creativity and engineering prowess that defined the hot rod culture of the mid-20th century.

Powered by a 302ci V8 engine rebuilt in 2018, the coupe boasts Billet Specialties valve covers, billet pulleys, MSD ignition, and dual Edelbrock carburetors, among other performance enhancements. The car's chassis features a Z'd, partially boxed frame with Model B-style front suspension and rear ladder bars with coil overs, ensuring a ride that's as stable as it is thrilling. Braking is managed by front discs and rear drums, staying true to traditional hot rod specifications.

Inside, the hot rod blends classic aesthetics with modern functionality, featuring a four-spoke steering wheel and a VDO gauge cluster that monitors oil pressure, voltage, and fuel levels. Ron Sturgeon, the museum's founder, describes the car as 'loud, proud, and unapologetically fun,' embodying the spirit of American ingenuity and craftsmanship.
