AI Golf Club G·GRIP Pro Launches on Kickstarter to Reveal Why Golfers Miss

Golfers have long struggled to improve their swings despite countless hours of practice and lessons. The core issue, according to SG Lab, is that key elements like hand pressure and subtle club movements are invisible to the naked eye. Existing devices only provide result-based data such as distance and direction, without explaining why those outcomes occur. SG Lab aims to change that with the G·GRIP Pro, an AI-powered intelligent golf club that launched globally on Kickstarter on October 6, 2026.

The G·GRIP Pro is the world's first golf club with integrated sensors that measure and analyze grip pressure in real time. Without separate cameras or wearables, the club collects data including finger-by-finger pressure changes, swing path, face angle, and tempo. It visualizes hand pressure changes from address to impact, helping golfers understand not just the result but the causes behind unstable swings. This focus on cause rather than result sets it apart, enabling more fundamental swing correction by correlating grip pressure with swing path and face angle.

Measured data is stored as "Swing DNA," allowing golfers to accumulate personal swing patterns and compare against their best swings. An AI-based coaching system provides intuitive sentence-style feedback, while real-time haptic and earbud feedback enables immediate correction during play. The club maintains a weight and balance similar to a conventional club, and features on-device data storage, IP68 waterproof and dustproof protection, and a long-lasting battery for practical use in real field environments.

Developed by founder Eddie Cho, a former PGA professional, the G·GRIP Pro is based on long coaching experience and represents a shift from feel-based instruction to data-driven training. SG Lab is conducting technical validation with multiple PGA professionals and global golf academies, with the ultimate goal of standardizing golf data.

The G·GRIP Pro has already gained recognition through two CES 2025 Innovation Awards and a CES 2026 Award. An SG Lab representative stated, "G·GRIP Pro is not simply a swing measurement device, but a data-driven golf training tool that helps golfers accurately understand and repeatedly refine their swings," adding, "Through this Kickstarter launch, we aim to introduce a new data-driven golf experience to golfers around the world."

Backers can support the project on the Kickstarter website, with special benefits planned for launch day backers. This launch matters because it addresses a fundamental gap in golf training: the inability to see the causes of poor shots. By providing real-time, actionable data, the G·GRIP Pro could accelerate skill development for amateurs and professionals alike, potentially reshaping how golf is taught and practiced worldwide.
