Ali Zokaee's 39 Book Signings at Indigo Stores Signal Strong Reader Demand

Author Ali Zokaee is making a significant impact in the Canadian book retail scene with 39 confirmed book signing events at Indigo locations across the Greater Toronto Area from April through October 2026, with more appearances expected before year-end. The tour has already demonstrated notable success, with the first 16 events averaging over 85 percent sell-through of ordered copies, and seven appearances achieving complete sell-outs.

One of the standout moments occurred on July 25 at Indigo Yonge & Eglinton in Toronto, where every copy of his book "Useful Quotes: True, Practical But Not Pleasing" sold out in under four and a half hours. This strong performance has encouraged Zokaee to continue expanding his presence, including introducing his second book, "The History Of Music And Cinema: Evaluation Part 1," at various venues.

For Zokaee, these events are more than just signings; they provide personal connections with readers and help grow his audience. His schedule includes repeat visits to popular locations like Indigo Eaton Centre, TD Center, and Mount Sinai Hospital, as well as new venues such as Indigo Yorkdale and Square One. He also plans to add several more appearances before the end of 2026, aiming for a total of approximately 40 bookstore events.

Looking ahead, Zokaee intends to sustain this momentum into 2027 with additional appearances featuring both books. Beyond Canada, he has begun outreach to Barnes & Noble locations in the United States, signaling a broader expansion of his in-person bookstore presence. His books are available through major retailers like Indigo, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Waterstones.

This tour underscores a growing trend of authors leveraging physical bookstore events to build reader engagement, especially in an era dominated by digital sales. Zokaee's success highlights the continued importance of in-person connections in the publishing industry, and his expansion plans could set a precedent for other authors seeking to strengthen their presence in both Canadian and U.S. markets.
