Two prominent art magazines, American Art Collector and Western Art Collector, are set to dramatically increase their distribution by partnering with Media Jet to place their publications in private jet terminals nationwide. Starting in April 2025, the magazines will be accessible at more than 70 newsstands in major private jet hubs, including key business and holiday destinations like Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
The strategic distribution expansion aims to connect with a discerning audience of approximately 400,000 passengers who frequently travel via private aircraft. By targeting this affluent demographic, the magazines seek to reach competitive art collectors who are actively seeking unique and high-quality contemporary artworks.
Published by International Artist Publishing, these magazines have specialized in art show previews since 2005, providing collectors with early insights into emerging and established artists. The new distribution channel complements their existing reach through paid subscriptions, major bookstores, and participation in over 80 art events annually.
Publishers Wendie Martin and Adolfo Castillo emphasize that their goal extends beyond simply selling magazines. They aim to create meaningful connections between exceptional artists and collectors, facilitating the discovery and acquisition of premium contemporary art across various market segments.
This innovative distribution strategy represents a significant opportunity for art collectors to discover new works and for artists to gain exposure among a highly targeted, art-enthusiastic audience. By making their publications more accessible in exclusive travel environments, these magazines are positioning themselves at the intersection of luxury, art, and travel.
