The Atlanta Community Food Bank, a central hub in the fight against hunger in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, has announced the appointment of new members to its Governing and Advisory Boards. These appointments, effective July 1, 2026, come at a critical time when over 900,000 people in the service area are projected to be food insecure. The new board members will support the organization in making food assistance more convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable.
Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the new members, stating, "We are honored to welcome our new Board members, who bring their professional expertise and dedication to our community, to the Food Bank. The Food Bank has added four new Governing Board members for Fiscal Year 2027, each serving three-year terms. They are:
Danielle Fallin, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; Marshall Guest, Chief Strategy Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber; Noel Baber, VP & CFO of Kaiser Permanente Georgia; and Vonetta Daniels, Founder & Principal at VYD and Associates.
In addition, the Advisory Board has elected Christine Connor, Managing Partner and Founder at Switch Consulting Group, as Vice Chair. Two new Advisory Board members join her: Jay Ritchie, President & CEO of Tokio Marine HCC, and Kevin Autie, Senior Manager at Gas South.
These appointments bring a wealth of experience in public health, business strategy, finance, and community leadership to the Food Bank's governance. Their expertise will be instrumental in guiding the organization as it continues to address the root causes of hunger and expand its reach.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works with more than 700 community-based nonprofit partners across 29 counties to provide healthy food to families, children, and seniors. In 2023, the organization distributed its one billionth meal, underscoring its significant impact. With the new board members' guidance, the Food Bank aims to further its mission of ensuring all hungry people in metro Atlanta and north Georgia have access to nutritious meals when they need them.
