Bento MDM Launches Healthcare-Focused Device Management Solution

2B Intelligent Soft S.A. (BVB: BENTO), the Romanian software company behind Bento MDM, has announced a healthcare-focused configuration of its enterprise unified endpoint management platform. The new offering is designed to help healthcare organizations manage, secure, and monitor a diverse range of devices—including staff smartphones, shared tablets for scheduling and check-in, and patient-facing displays—from a single centralized console.

Healthcare settings present unique device management challenges. Different devices carry varying security and compliance requirements, and data protection regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA impose strict obligations on how sensitive patient information is handled. Bento MDM's healthcare configuration includes Kiosk Mode, which locks a device to approved applications; Compliance Templates; application and access control; and Location Tracking with remote lock or wipe capabilities for lost or stolen devices. These features aim to support organizations in protecting sensitive data while maintaining operational efficiency.

The platform is available as both a cloud (SaaS) and on-premises deployment, giving healthcare organizations flexibility to choose a deployment model that aligns with their data-residency and security policies. This dual-option approach is particularly relevant for entities that must keep patient data within specific jurisdictions or behind their own firewalls.

Vlad Bodea, Co-founder and Board Member of Bento, emphasized the specific constraints of healthcare device management. "Device management in healthcare carries specific constraints: shared devices, patient-facing screens, and strict data-protection rules. Bento MDM gives these organizations centralized control and the security functions those environments require," he said in the announcement.

The move comes as healthcare providers increasingly rely on mobile and connected devices to improve patient care and streamline operations. However, the proliferation of devices also expands the attack surface for cyber threats. By offering a solution tailored to healthcare, Bento MDM aims to address the sector's need for robust, compliant device management without sacrificing usability.

Bento (2B Intelligent Soft S.A.) has been listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange since March 2022 and is a regional partner of Microsoft, HPE, and Cisco. The company has delivered complex projects for multinational firms in Romania, the United States, and Switzerland over more than two decades. This announcement underscores the growing intersection of healthcare and enterprise mobility management, as organizations seek to balance operational flexibility with stringent regulatory requirements.
