Branicks Group CEO Sonja Warntges to Step Down at End of October 2026

Sonja Warntges, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Branicks Group AG, will step down from her role and leave the Executive Board by mutual agreement at the end of October 2026, the company announced. Warntges has been a member of the Executive Board since May 2013, initially as Chief Financial Officer, and has served as Chairwoman since October 2017.

Starting in November 2026, the Executive Board will consist of Josef Schultheis, who, in addition to his role as Chief Restructuring Officer, will assume Warntges’s previous responsibilities, and Johannes von Mutius as Chief Investment Officer. The leadership change comes as Branicks, a leading German listed specialist for office and logistics real estate, reaches what Warntges described as an important milestone with an agreed-upon restructuring plan.

“The past few years have been marked by successes, but also - most recently - by significant challenges. With the agreed-upon restructuring plan, we have reached an important milestone. That is why now is the right time to hand over responsibility,” Warntges said. She thanked the Supervisory Board, her Executive Board colleagues, and all employees for their cooperation and wished Branicks continued success. The Supervisory Board Chairman thanked Warntges for her dedication during various phases of the company’s development and wished her all the best in her future endeavors.

The transition is significant for investors and the German real estate sector because Branicks manages properties with a market value of EUR 10.1 billion in its Commercial Portfolio and Institutional Business segments as of June 30, 2026. The company generates cash flows from stable rent revenues on long-term leases in its Commercial Portfolio and earns recurrent fees from real estate services for national and international institutional investors in its Institutional Business. Schultheis’s dual role as Chief Restructuring Officer and head of the Executive Board signals that restructuring remains central to the company’s agenda. The shares of Branicks Group AG are listed in the Prime Standard of the German Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE000A1X3XX4).

Warntges’s departure marks the end of a nine-year tenure at the helm and comes at a critical juncture for the company. The full announcement is available through www.newmediawire.com, and further details about the company can be found at www.branicks.com.
