Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP Expands Commercial and Real Estate Practice with Addition of Attorney Brian Lamaj

Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP (BPS Lawyers) has announced that Attorney Brian Lamaj has joined the firm as a member of its commercial and real estate law departments, based out of the firm's Glastonbury office. The addition reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to expanding its bench of attorneys across Connecticut and strengthening its full-service approach to commercial and real estate matters.

At BPS Lawyers, Attorney Lamaj will handle both transactional and litigation matters, representing individuals and small businesses in commercial and real estate disputes. His background includes representing municipal entities and property owners in land use and municipal law matters, including appeals of planning and zoning commission and zoning board of appeals decisions, as well as zoning enforcement actions. That background continues to shape his transactional work today, where issues like nonconforming use, variances, and pending applications often play a direct role in a property's marketability.

Nicholas Paindiris, Partner at BPS Lawyers, highlighted the value of Lamaj's experience: "Brian's background in land use and municipal law gives him a perspective that's genuinely useful in real estate and commercial transactions. He understands how zoning and municipal issues can affect a deal long before they show up in a title search, and that kind of insight really benefits our clients."

Attorney Lamaj graduated cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was recognized for Excellence in Clinical Education. During law school, he served as a legal intern at the State of Connecticut Office of the Attorney General, representing the Connecticut Department of Labor in unemployment compensation appeals and bringing civil penalty actions against employers for wage violations.

He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and currently serves as Membership Director of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. He is also a member of the Hartford County Bar Association. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Connecticut.

Founded in 1977, Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP is a full-service Connecticut law firm with offices in Glastonbury, Hartford, New Hartford, and Essex. With a team of 23 attorneys, the firm offers collaborative representation across personal injury, family law, business and corporate law, probate and estate planning, criminal defense, real estate law, and more. BPS Lawyers has spent its nearly 50 years in practice helping individuals, families, and small businesses throughout Connecticut overcome legal challenges with clarity and care.
