Burrow & Associates Launches $1,000 Scholarship for Students Who Help Others Recover

Burrow & Associates, LLC, a Georgia-based law firm, has announced the creation of the Burrow & Associates Road to Recovery Scholarship, a $1,000 award intended to support one student's academic expenses. The scholarship is open to students enrolled in or accepted to accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional programs in the United States, including community college students, high school seniors, and GED holders. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate a genuine commitment to helping others through difficult times.

To apply, students must submit an essay of 1,000 words or less responding to three prompts about how they have helped others through injury, illness, or hardship. Along with the essay, applicants must provide a current resume and an unofficial transcript. All materials must be emailed to scholarships@legalatlanta.com by the application deadline of August 31, 2027. The scholarship recipient will be announced on October 1, 2027.

According to the firm, the award is intentionally broad, welcoming students from any field of study, not just those pursuing legal careers. A qualifying applicant might be someone who has cared for a family member after an accident, volunteered with individuals healing from injury or illness, or assisted a neighbor in recovering from a difficult year. This inclusivity reflects the firm's belief that recovery is a communal effort.

Darrell L. Burrow, founding attorney of Burrow & Associates, explained the inspiration behind the scholarship: "After a serious injury, recovery depends on the people who step in to help, and we have seen firsthand how much that support matters for our own clients. This scholarship is our way of recognizing students who have taken real action to help others recover and rebuild, and who plan to keep doing that work long after they graduate."

The scholarship aligns with the firm's broader mission. Since 1996, Burrow & Associates has assisted Georgia residents with personal injury and consumer bankruptcy cases, recovering millions of dollars across more than 10,000 personal injury settlements. The firm has built its reputation on treating clients with dignity and offering compassionate representation. By funding this scholarship, the firm aims to extend its support to the next generation of helpers.

Students with questions about the scholarship or application process are encouraged to email burrowscholarship@legalatlanta.com. The office notes that it cannot accept phone inquiries related to the scholarship. This scholarship not only provides financial relief but also highlights the importance of empathy and community support in the recovery process, values that are central to the legal profession and beyond.
