The CAHEC Foundation, partnering with Truist and Remnant Management, Inc., successfully hosted a back-to-school event at Cypress Cove, a 200-unit affordable rental community in Wilmington, NC. Held on August 16th, the event saw over 200 residents in attendance. Volunteers distributed 150 backpacks filled with school supplies, including notebooks, folders, crayons, and pencils. Children also had the opportunity to decorate their own water bottles, and attendees enjoyed pizza and Italian Ice.
Truist volunteers were on site to discuss banking needs with residents and engaged parents in a Financial Fraud trivia game. Stefanie Lee, Community Relations Manager for CAHEC, highlighted the significance of the event: "We were honored to work with Truist to provide backpacks and necessary school supplies to the residents at Cypress Cove. Providing resources that help children have a successful start to the school year is an impactful experience to have. Events like this are what bring communities together!"
The CAHEC Foundation expressed gratitude for its collaborative partnerships that enable the provision of essential resources to residents. The organization plans to host more resident-focused events in the future. A video recap of the event is available here.
