Matthew Sharman, team leader of The Sharman Team at Real Broker NY LLC, has been named an Elite Agent by Real Brokerage, an honor based on recent sales production rather than tenure or membership. The designation, announced September 1, 2026, is reserved for agents and team leaders who achieve exceptional sales volume within a qualifying year, reflecting current activity across a large number of transactions.
For prospective buyers and sellers, this distinction carries practical weight. It indicates an agent who has been actively involved in the market through pricing, negotiations, inspections, appraisals, financing, title issues, and closing coordination—not one whose experience is largely historical. According to Sharman, clients should look beyond titles and consider what an agent did to earn them. "Reaching Elite reflects sustained, current experience across a large number of transactions, and every one of those experiences makes us better prepared to protect the next client when something unexpected happens," he said.
Sharman specializes in the waterfront market across Conesus Lake, Honeoye Lake, Silver Lake, and the western Finger Lakes, working alongside his father, who has been licensed in the region for five decades. This niche market is concentrated and seasonal, demanding familiarity with frontage measurement, shared-access and easement arrangements, and appraisal gaps on properties with few clean comparables—details that determine whether a lake purchase retains its value.
Real Brokerage's Elite Agent Program sets two qualification routes: reaching the company's full annual cap of $12,000 and then generating an additional $6,000 in post-cap transaction fees, or reaching $500,000 in gross commission income across at least 10 completed transactions of $1 million or above. Sharman qualified in August 2026 under the first route, following roughly 70 transaction sides over the preceding twelve months, split nearly evenly between buyers and sellers. Because the cap is the maximum the brokerage collects from an agent annually, exceeding it is a direct result of high transaction volume.
Earlier in 2026, Sharman was named RateMyAgent Agent of the Year for both Livingston County and Conesus Lake, and a Top 10 Agent in New York State. His recent recognition underscores the importance of current, verifiable experience in a market where unique property characteristics require specialized knowledge.
