CrossFit Mentality, a CrossFit gym owned by ten-time CrossFit Games athlete Scott Panchik, has relocated to a larger facility in Mentor, Ohio. The move, completed over the summer, gives the gym more room for training and allows it to expand its offerings, according to a press release.
The gym is now an official HYROX gym. HYROX combines running with functional movement stations, providing members with a hybrid endurance training option alongside the existing CrossFit programming. This addition matters for area athletes because it brings a structured, competition-style fitness format to Mentor that was previously unavailable locally, giving members a new way to test their fitness and train for HYROX events.
In addition to HYROX, CrossFit Mentality has introduced a Legends class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 PM. The class is designed for members aged 55 and older, with the goal of helping them become stronger, healthier, and more independent. The offering reflects a growing emphasis on accessible fitness for older adults, a demographic that often faces limited options for strength-focused training.
The new facility also includes an expanded Recovery Room featuring a sauna and cold plunge, allowing members to recover on-site after training. Recovery amenities have become a larger part of gym offerings in recent years, and their presence here could help members manage soreness and reduce injury risk, potentially improving long-term adherence to fitness routines.
CrossFit Mentality serves members in Mentor and the surrounding area. The combination of a larger space, HYROX certification, senior-focused programming, and on-site recovery positions the gym to attract a broader range of members, from competitive athletes to older adults seeking functional fitness. For the local business community, the expansion signals continued investment in the fitness sector in Mentor.
