Daw Cuts Opens in Azle, Offering Private Men's and Boys' Haircuts

Men and boys in Azle, Texas, have a new option for haircuts with the opening of Daw Cuts, a private salon suite owned by licensed Texas cosmetologist Dawprakai "Daw" Ambrose. Located in Suite 100 at Salon and Spa Galleria Azle, 350 NW Parkway St., the business focuses on men's haircuts, boys' haircuts, beard trims, and beard lineups, offering a personalized experience in a private setting.

Ambrose, who has been licensed in Texas since March 2021, opened Daw Cuts with the goal of creating a clean, reliable place where men and boys can get a great haircut without the rushed experience or complicated service menu often found in larger salons. "A good cut should be simple. You sit down, we talk, you leave looking like yourself — just cleaner," Ambrose said.

The private suite includes a shampoo bowl, allowing Ambrose to provide one-on-one attention from start to finish. Clients are not sharing a busy salon floor with multiple stylists, which sets Daw Cuts apart from traditional barbershops or salons. The signature service is the classic men's cut and beard lineup, catering to those who want to keep their haircut and facial hair well-maintained.

Daw Cuts particularly welcomes men and boys from Azle, Springtown, and northwest Fort Worth, including fathers looking for a convenient place to schedule haircuts for themselves and their sons. "I wanted to create a place where getting a haircut feels easy," Ambrose said. "You book it, come in, sit down and get taken care of."

The business is currently accepting appointments, with walk-ins welcome when the chair is available. Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling or texting 817-256-0344 or booking online through Square. The salon also maintains an Instagram presence at @dawcutsazle.

For the local community, the opening of Daw Cuts means more than just a new place to get a haircut; it represents a shift toward personalized service in an industry often dominated by high-volume chains. By operating as an independent suite within Salon and Spa Galleria, Ambrose can control her schedule and focus on each client individually, which can lead to better outcomes and higher customer satisfaction.

The broader implications for the beauty industry are notable. Salon and Spa Galleria, founded by Ron Sturgeon, has expanded to 23 locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, providing equipped private suites for beauty professionals. This model allows independent operators like Ambrose to thrive without the overhead of a traditional storefront, fostering entrepreneurship and flexibility. As more consumers seek tailored experiences, such setups could become increasingly popular, challenging the traditional salon structure.

For residents of Azle and surrounding areas, Daw Cuts offers a convenient, no-frills option that prioritizes quality and comfort. With its focus on men's and boys' grooming, it fills a niche that larger salons may overlook. As the business grows, it could contribute to the local economy by attracting clients from nearby towns and supporting the broader network of independent beauty professionals in the region.
