Debra Lee Fader's 'Walk By Faith' Chronicles a Journey from Paralysis to Purpose

In her newly released memoir, "Walk By Faith: With God as Your Compass," Debra Lee Fader recounts a life marked by both physical collapse and spiritual resilience, offering readers a testament to faith in the face of adversity. The book opens with a pivotal moment in 2006 when Fader lost all movement below her neck, an event that set off years of misdiagnosis and isolation. Yet, she writes, it was during this period of silence from God that she clung most fiercely to her faith.

Fader's story is not solely one of struggle; it is also a narrative of artistic achievement. From tap dancing as a toddler to performing at the Lido de Paris in Las Vegas, her career spanned musical theater, college performances, and international singing gigs. She frames each success as part of a greater divine design, emphasizing that her God-given talents and stubborn perseverance opened doors. "It's not just a success story—it's a story of surrendering to God's compass," she writes.

The memoir extends beyond personal narrative to explore themes of community and service. Fader served as the former mayor of Montevideo, Minnesota, for eight consecutive years, where she promoted goodwill and cultural exchange. She also founded Diversity-USA, a charity focused on social diversity, and became a Certified and Ordained Chaplain during the COVID-19 pandemic. Later chapters offer spiritual encouragement and tools for moving beyond trauma, reminding readers that each person is born with a purpose.

Fader holds a degree in music and theater from the United States International University in San Diego. Her performance credits include "Lido de Paris" in Las Vegas, tours across the U.S. and Canada, and appearances as a Featured Guest Artist on "Luis Vigoreaux Presenta" in Puerto Rico. Now retired, she performs at the Hollywood on Main stage, hosts the podcast "Recipe for Kindness," and is launching initiatives like Diversity-USA.Org and ShowgirlUSA.Org.

"Walk By Faith: With God as Your Compass" is available for purchase through multiple retailers. The book is published by Citi of Books, a company that began as a small literary boutique in New Mexico and has since expanded to serve authors across the United States and Canada, offering high-quality publishing services and fostering a community centered on storytelling.
