Dietmar Heinisser, a member of the ANDRITZ AG Executive Board, has resigned from his position for personal reasons, effective September 21, 2026. In his role, he was responsible for the Environment & Energy business area and Group Manufacturing Management. The resignation was announced by the company, which disclosed the change on www.newmediawire.com.
Heinisser joined ANDRITZ in 1997 and held various management positions across the group in Austria, Germany, and the United States during his nearly 30 years with the company. He played a significant role in developing and substantially growing ANDRITZ’s Paper Service business, according to the company. He was appointed to the Executive Board in 2023.
Joachim Schonbeck, President and CEO of ANDRITZ, expressed regret over the departure. “I regret Dietmar’s departure and, on behalf of ANDRITZ, would like to thank him for his strong commitment and valuable contributions during his many years with the company and his time on the Executive Board. We respect his decision and wish him all the best for the future,” Schonbeck said. Until further notice, Schonbeck will assume the Executive Board responsibilities previously held by Heinisser.
The change in leadership comes as ANDRITZ continues to position itself as a global leader in technology and innovation. The company provides advanced plants, equipment, services, and digital solutions for industries including pulp and paper, metals, hydropower, and environmental sectors. Founded in 1852 and headquartered in Austria, the publicly listed group employs about 30,000 people at 280 locations in over 80 countries. ANDRITZ’s growth is driven by sustainable solutions enabling the green transition, advanced digitalization, and comprehensive services.
Heinisser’s departure could have implications for the company’s Environment & Energy business area, which is central to the green transition. His nearly three decades of experience, particularly in growing the Paper Service business, will be difficult to replace. Schonbeck’s assumption of these responsibilities may ensure continuity in the short term, but the long-term strategic direction of these units remains uncertain. Investors and industry observers will be watching to see how the company manages the transition and whether it affects ongoing projects or growth initiatives.
