Sha-La Music has announced the upcoming release of 'Better Day,' a Digital 45 by US Roots Rocker DownTown Mystic, scheduled for October 18, 2024. This release marks the artist's third and final offering for 2024, distributed globally by The Orchard/Sony Music.
The 'Better Day' Digital 45 comprises three tracks, including 'Love Light' and 'Tomorrow's Clown,' featuring Steve Holley on drums and Paul Page on bass, both from Ian Hunter's Rant Band. This release serves as a preview of DownTown Mystic's forthcoming album 'The Wish,' slated for 2025, showcasing the artist's evolving style of rock and roll.
Robert Allen, DownTown Mystic's Writer/Producer, describes the title track as an attempt to convey a positive message, incorporating a 12-string Rickenbacker guitar as a tribute to Tom Petty. This musical choice reflects the artist's commitment to a sound that is both 'vintage yet modern.'
The release of 'Better Day' follows a successful year for DownTown Mystic, with the 'Rock'n'Roll 4 The Soul' album and 'Acoustic Sessions' EP gaining traction on European and US radio stations. Sha-La Music's strategy to focus on US radio success has proven effective, with DownTown Mystic's 'AmeriKarma' album attracting attention from Non-commercial Music Programmers and accumulating over 3 million streams.
DownTown Mystic's music, influenced by bands like Buffalo Springfield and Rockpile, has garnered international acclaim, with airplay in over 40 countries. The artist has also become a prominent figure in sync licensing, with music featured in more than 240 TV shows and films.
This latest release underscores DownTown Mystic's growing influence in the indie music scene and highlights the continued success of Sha-La Music's distribution partnership with The Orchard/Sony Music. As the music industry increasingly values independent artists with strong streaming and licensing potential, DownTown Mystic's latest offering could signal further opportunities for growth in these areas.
