Dynamics Square USA, a Microsoft Solutions Partner, has completed the upgrade of a South Carolina-based recycling and materials recovery organization from Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central SaaS, the company announced June 10.
The project replaced the organization's aging on-premises infrastructure with a cloud environment designed to improve inventory visibility, financial reporting, and operational scalability. The recycling organization manages scrap metals, electronics, vehicles, and consumer recyclables, coordinating daily material intake, outbound shipments, procurement, and financial operations. Its previous on-prem NAV system created limitations related to reporting, system maintenance, scalability, and Microsoft 365 connectivity.
Dynamics Square USA implemented a full upgrade to Business Central SaaS covering finance, procurement, inventory management, warehouse activities, sales operations, approval workflows, and reporting capabilities. The engagement also prepared the organization for future Power BI reporting enhancements planned in the next phase of digital transformation.
The upgraded cloud environment now provides structured workflows, dependable inventory tracking, cleaner operational coordination, and improved reporting visibility across departments handling recycling operations. The implementation also reduced reliance on spreadsheets and eliminated several server-related maintenance concerns tied to the previous infrastructure.
