Eco Expo Asia 2025 to Showcase Global Green Technologies Driving Carbon Neutrality Goals

Eco Expo Asia 2025, themed Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality, will gather more than 300 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions at AsiaWorld-Expo from October 28 to 31, positioning itself as a critical platform for advancing global environmental solutions. The timing coincides with China's commitment to reduce economy-wide net greenhouse gas emissions by 7-10% from peak levels by 2035, as stated by President Xi Jinping at the United Nations Climate Summit, creating substantial demand for environmental products and technologies.

HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Jenny Koo emphasized the expo's role in showcasing the latest products and technologies in new energy, green living and environmental protection. The event serves as a business platform for ESG and sustainable solutions, helping industries worldwide seize opportunities created by the green economy. Government suppliers from the Chinese Mainland, ASEAN and Belt and Road countries will participate significantly, reflecting the global nature of climate challenges and solutions.

The expo focuses on three key areas: Circular Economy and Waste Management, Green & Smart Mobility, and ESG-related Services. In Circular Economy, Hong Kong exhibitor Green AI Technology Limited will display a smart sorting bin powered by machine vision and AI algorithms, while China Everbright Environment Group Limited returns with waste-to-energy solutions that transform waste into resources. The Green & Smart Mobility zone features Luquos Energy Limited showcasing the world's first commercialized sulfur-based flow battery energy storage system at nearly half the cost of lithium batteries.

International participation reaches new heights with Korea and Italy staging group participations for the first time. The Korea pavilion features solutions in air purification, deodorization, water quality management and waste treatment. Norway, the Netherlands and Canada return following previous successes, while the ANSO Environmental Technology Industry Alliance, led by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions, makes its debut with 11 mainland enterprises showcasing water resources and atmospheric environment technologies.

The highlight Eco Asia Conference will bring together government representatives from the Chinese Mainland and Belt and Road countries alongside global industry leaders to share latest policies, projects and insights. Conference sessions will focus on circular economy developments, including the launch of the Hong Kong Circular Built Environment Guidebook, and themes like Building a Sustainable Future: Gearing Towards a Net-Zero Built Environment and Green & Smart Mobility - Envisioning the Future of Transportation.

Specialized forums add depth to the event's programming. The 6th Hydrogen Economy Forum on October 29 will feature representatives from Towngas and experts from the Chinese Mainland and overseas, including the China Hydrogen Development and Innovation Alliance for Urban Gas, Veolia and Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The Experience Sharing Forum on Promoting Environmental Business in Overseas Markets will invite Belt and Road country representatives to discuss environmental industry investment policies.

Public engagement receives significant emphasis with Public Day on October 31 offering complimentary admission. Visitors can participate in seminars and green workshops, including a Beeswax Wrap Workshop and Board Game Workshop. Environmental KOL Yeung Ting will share tips for joyful green living, while Ocean Park introduces its Mission R on saving species and habitats. A Green Mart will allow the public to shop for sustainable products.

The expo actively supports Hong Kong and mainland enterprises in exploring global green trade opportunities through the HKTDC's network of 51 offices worldwide.
