European Gymnastics, representing 50 national member federations and 8.5 million gymnasts, has announced the launch of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant named Luigi, powered by OriginTrail. This development aims to drive borderless knowledge and foster community synergy, making gymnastics more accessible and engaging for all levels.
The AI-powered Luigi, a digital twin of the organization’s mascot, will provide valuable information about upcoming competitions, important historical events, and scoring elements for routines, among other topics. This initiative aligns with European Gymnastics' mission to promote and develop gymnastics while supporting the community. Luigi’s responses will include sources of information, thanks to OriginTrail's Decentralized Knowledge Graph, enabling users to explore further. The decentralized nature of OriginTrail ensures data contributions from national federations, gymnasts, and fans are protected against tampering, thereby extending the organization’s commitment to integrity.
Luigi’s launch coincides with the Olympic Games, where he will offer insights into the schedule and daily updates on results for European gymnasts in Paris. This move is part of European Gymnastics' Strategy 2030, which embraces top technology to simplify interactions within the gymnastics world.
Dr. Farid Gayibov, President of European Gymnastics, expressed excitement about this innovation, noting that it builds on the organization’s recent advancements, such as the launch of a digital cup competition. Luigi’s digital twin can be accessed on the European Gymnastics website.
