Featured Expands Workflows to Free Plan, Bringing PR Automation to All Users

Featured, the AI co-pilot for PR, announced today that Featured Workflows are now available on every plan, including the Free tier. Workflows are always-on PR automations that monitor journalist requests, HARO queries, podcasts, bylined article opportunities, speaking events, awards, media mentions, competitor coverage, and AI visibility on a user-defined schedule, then deliver matched results via email or Slack. This move follows the launch of Workflows on paid plans on July 14, 2026.

Since Workflows went live on June 16, 2026, users have created 467 workflows. Those workflows have completed 26,239 runs and surfaced 93,012 matched opportunities, with 93% of runs finding at least one match, according to Featured's Workflows Usage Report. The high match rate underscores the tool's effectiveness in filtering relevant opportunities from a vast array of sources.

Users can set up a workflow by selecting a template and filling in three fields: what to look for, when to receive it, and where to send results. Alternatively, they can type a single sentence into Featured Chat, such as, “Send me HARO requests about small business finance every morning in Slack.” Workflows are configured in plain language, with scheduling options ranging from hourly to custom cadence, and delivery via email or Slack.

The platform offers 12 workflow types, including monitoring journalist requests from sources like HARO and Connectively, finding podcasts from a database of 814,000 active shows, and tracking AI visibility across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. Importantly, Workflows stop at the opportunity; they do not automatically contact journalists or publishers, leaving the decision to the user.

“PR opportunities can come up at any time, and manually searching for them every day is difficult to sustain,” said Brett Farmiloe, CEO of Featured. “PR agencies already pay for monitoring. Most founders and small businesses never set it up. Putting Workflows on the Free plan means anyone can decide what to monitor and how often to hear about it, and Featured does the recurring research. Automation stops at the opportunity. A person still decides whether it's relevant and what to say.”

The expansion to the Free plan could significantly impact small businesses and individual founders who previously lacked access to comprehensive PR monitoring tools. Free users can run Workflows until they reach the day's usage allowance; workflows then pause and resume when usage resets the next day. Paid plans, Lite at $29 per month and Pro at $79 per month when billed annually, offer higher usage allowances. Featured also owns and operates HARO and Connectively as standalone products, further integrating its ecosystem.

By making Workflows available for free, Featured is lowering the barrier to entry for proactive PR, enabling more voices to compete for media attention. This could lead to a more diverse range of stories being told and help level the playing field for smaller players.
