Goliath Resources Ltd., a partner of McEwen Mining Inc., has initiated plans to develop an underground exploration adit at its 100%-owned Golddigger property located in British Columbia's Golden Triangle. The project involves engaging JDS Energy & Mining Inc. to evaluate the development of an underground access point targeting the high-potential Bonanza Zone.
The proposed underground adit represents a strategic approach to accessing and exploring a geological area marked by exceptional gold mineralization. Recent drilling results underscore the project's potential, with drill hole GD-24-260 revealing a remarkable 34.52 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq) over 39 meters, including intervals exceeding 130 g/t AuEq.
By establishing underground access, Goliath Resources aims to enable more efficient year-round drilling operations, conduct detailed geological confirmations, and potentially execute bulk sampling. This approach allows for more precise and comprehensive exploration of the deposit, potentially accelerating the project's development and understanding of its economic viability.
The underground adit strategy represents a sophisticated method of mineral exploration, providing direct subsurface access that can yield more accurate geological data compared to surface drilling. For the mining industry, such methodical exploration techniques are crucial in assessing the true potential of mineral deposits and minimizing investment risks.
