Good Bull Investments Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Galveston's Historic Commodore Hotel

Good Bull Investments, a private equity and real estate investment firm, has acquired the historic Commodore on the Beach hotel in Galveston from JMK5 Holdings, led by developer Jerome Karam. This acquisition represents Good Bull's first venture into the hospitality industry, with plans to renovate and reopen the 92-room hotel by Mardi Gras 2026.

The sale signifies a strategic pivot for JMK5 Holdings, which is now focusing on larger redevelopment projects, including transforming the former Gulf Greyhound Park into a concert venue and revitalizing properties in Houston. Jerome Karam, who oversaw significant renovations of the Commodore since its acquisition in 2021, stated the sale aligns with JMK5's goal to allocate resources to projects with greater community impact.

Good Bull Investments also acquired additional properties from JMK5, including a commercial shopping center in Friendswood and a cruise ship parking property in Galveston, further establishing its presence in the region. Tina Blake, Vice President of Operations for Good Bull, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the progress JMK5 started and entering the hospitality market.

This transaction underscores the dynamic nature of real estate investment and development in Galveston County, highlighting the economic and cultural significance of repurposing historic properties for future generations.
