Great American Media has expanded its investment in Latino audiences with the launch of Pure Flix Familia, a streaming destination created for families seeking culturally relevant entertainment rooted in faith, family, and shared values. The service debuted during Hispanic Heritage Month and at the start of the Christmas family-viewing season, offering Spanish-language programming that will grow to include English-language and bilingual storytelling.

"Great American Pure Flix is the leading faith-and-family streaming service, and Pure Flix Familia will build on that foundation with programming and experiences created specifically for Latino families," said Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media. "Faith and family are at the heart of Great American Media, and those values have deep roots within the Latino community."

The launch represents a significant market opportunity. According to Nielsen's 2025 Diverse Intelligence Series report, U.S. Hispanics represent more than $4.1 trillion in purchasing power, and streaming accounts for 55.8% of their total television viewing time, compared with 46% for the overall U.S. population. Pure Flix Familia aims to capture this audience through a Total Latino Market strategy that recognizes how today's Latino audiences move across languages, cultures, countries, and generations.

At launch, the platform will offer original, licensed, and Spanish-dubbed movies, series, family entertainment, and faith-centered storytelling. The debut slate includes the first original microdrama, Alquilé Un Novio Para Navidad, a faith-based Christmas romcom produced in association with Minivela, the Latino media company co-founded by Manny Ruiz and actor-producer Carlos Ponce.

"We approached Pure Flix because we saw an opportunity for more wholesome entertainment created with Latino families in mind, and they immediately understood the need," Ponce said. "Families shouldn't have to choose between stories that authentically reflect their culture and entertainment they feel good about bringing into their homes."

In partnership with Chicano Hollywood and a coalition of Latino film festival leaders, Pure Flix Familia will also support Latino storytellers through a national call for feature and short films centered on family and faith. Selected projects will be considered for licensing or acquisition.

The U.S. debut is the first step in Great American Media's longer-term vision for Pure Flix Familia, with plans to eventually serve audiences throughout Latin America and Spain. The company's portfolio includes Great American Media brands such as Great American Family and Great American Pure Flix. Additional announcements regarding Pure Flix Familia's complete launch slate, subscription options, supported devices, and availability will be made in the coming weeks.
