German solar project developer hep global has appointed Martin Vogt as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as part of a long-planned management restructuring. Vogt, 44, succeeds company founder Christian Hamann, 55, who stepped down as CEO at his own request after nearly 17 years but will remain on the management team as Chief Financial Officer. Hamann had already taken responsibility for the finance division in May 2026.
The transition is designed to maintain continuity in corporate leadership and clarify management responsibilities. Vogt has been with hep global since early 2024 and most recently served as Chief Project Officer, overseeing global project development. In that role, he was instrumental in advancing the company’s project business strategically and operationally. Georg von Eichendorff Strachwitz continues as Chief Operating Officer, a position he has held since 2021.
“I am very grateful for the trust of our employees, customers, and partners over the past 17 years,” Hamann said. “As an international developer of solar energy projects, we have made a significant contribution to the energy transition since our founding. Martin Vogt is a leader who knows our company, our markets, and our strategic priorities very well. At the same time, I will remain closely connected to hep global as CFO and will focus on the company’s financial management. This allows us to establish clear lines of responsibility while ensuring continuity in corporate leadership.”
Vogt thanked founders Hamann and Thorsten Eitle, as well as other shareholders, for their trust and contributions to building the company. “hep global has many years of experience in the international development of solar energy projects and an established platform in our core markets,” Vogt said. “In recent years, we have consistently adapted our organizational and cost structures to changing market conditions. In doing so, we have laid the groundwork for the next phase of development. Our focus remains clear: We want to further strengthen our position as a reliable partner for the development of solar and battery storage projects. To this end, we are committed to continuity in our strategy and management, a focus on our core European markets, and targeted new growth initiatives.”
The hep global Group is an internationally active specialist in the development of solar projects and battery energy storage systems. For more than 15 years, the owner-managed company from Baden-Württemberg has been developing and planning renewable energy projects, mainly in Europe, Japan, and North America. Its strategic focus is on greenfield developments and the integration of battery energy storage systems. The group employs around 120 people worldwide with subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, Poland, the USA, Canada, and Japan.
This leadership change is significant for the renewable energy sector as it signals stability and strategic continuity for a key player in solar and battery storage development. With Vogt at the helm and Hamann managing finances, hep global is positioned to pursue growth in core European markets and beyond, which could accelerate the deployment of clean energy projects and support the global energy transition. For investors and partners, the seamless succession reduces uncertainty and reinforces the company’s commitment to its long-term vision. More information can be found at www.hepsolar.com.
