The Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN) announced that its Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest (TCCYF) has received four awards at the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards, recognizing the initiative's impact in promoting Latino representation in film and media. The awards were announced by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts and honor excellence in marketing, communications, and creative media.
Among the winning productions was the interview series 2025 Tú Cuentas Cafecito con Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo, which earned an Award of Excellence in the General-Interview or Talk Show category and an Award of Distinction in the General-Motivational category. The series 2025 Tú Cuentas Cafecito con Roselyn Sanchez received an Award of Distinction in the General-Interview or Talk Show category, while The Power of Voice: The Art of Dubbing for Film and TV won an Award of Excellence in the General-Motivational category.
The Communicator Awards, now in their 32nd year, received over 3,000 entries from agencies, production companies, universities, and global brands. Winners were selected by a jury of more than 1,100 industry professionals from organizations including Netflix, National Geographic Society, FedEx, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Josh Campbell, general manager of the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, praised the work produced by HITN's TCCYF, stating, "Your work cut through the noise, connected with audiences and delivered real results."
Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest aims to provide emerging Latino filmmakers and storytellers with greater visibility through screenings, workshops, and original digital content. Cynthia Rivera, TCCYF co-director, received a congratulatory letter from the Communicator Awards acknowledging the initiative's success. The recognition comes at a time when representation in mainstream entertainment remains a pressing issue, and HITN's Tú Cuentas initiative has increasingly focused on creating a platform for young Hispanic creatives.
HITN, a leading Spanish-language media company, reaches more than 35 million homes in the United States and Puerto Rico through distributors such as DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, Comcast Xfinity, and Charter Spectrum. The organization's mission to educate and entertain aligns with the festival's goal of helping Hispanic youth develop and share their stories with broader audiences.
