The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) presented its Fashion Hong Kong runway show at London Fashion Week, featuring Autumn/Winter 2026 collections from four Hong Kong designers. The event, held on February 19 at The Vinyl Factory in Soho, attracted over 300 international buyers, media representatives, and fashion professionals, demonstrating the global fashion community's growing interest in Hong Kong's creative talent.
Designers Angus Tsui (ANGUS TSUI), Bettie Jiang (Bettie Haute Couture), Harrison Wong (HARRISON WONG), and Menu Tsai (selfFab.) showcased collections ranging from avant-garde futurism and cultural fusion to zero-waste tailoring and sporty aesthetics. Their presentations highlighted Hong Kong fashion's commitment to innovation and sustainability, with the event receiving coverage from international media outlets including BBC News, DAZED, Forbes, Vogue Business, and Wonderland.
Beyond the runway show, the HKTDC maintained a professional designer showroom in London from February 18-23, allowing international buyers to engage directly with the brands and understand their design philosophies. This initiative, part of the broader Fashion Hong Kong program launched in 2015, provides crucial market testing and business connection opportunities for Hong Kong designers seeking international expansion.
The event's importance extends beyond individual designer exposure to broader implications for Hong Kong's fashion industry and creative economy. By successfully participating in major international fashion weeks like London, Hong Kong designers gain credibility and visibility in competitive global markets. The showcase also featured a curated display highlighting how designers creatively utilize new materials from global suppliers, demonstrating the intersection of technology, sustainability, and artistry that characterizes contemporary Hong Kong fashion.
This international presence reinforces Hong Kong's position as a key fashion design hub in Asia while creating tangible business opportunities. The HKTDC's ongoing efforts to connect Hong Kong designers with global markets through initiatives like Fashion Hong Kong and its participation in Fashion InStyle (www.fashionhongkong.com) help local brands expand their overseas presence. With over 50 global offices, the HKTDC continues to facilitate these international connections, supporting the long-term development of Hong Kong's fashion industry on the world stage.
