Hong Kong Twin Lighting Fairs to Showcase Smart and Sustainable Innovations

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will host the 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo in late October, under the theme Beyond Illumination. The Autumn Lighting Fair runs from 27 to 30 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, while the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo takes place from 26 to 29 October at AsiaWorld-Expo. Together, they will feature some 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, showcasing products that blend smart connectivity, healthy living, immersive experiences, and sustainability.

A key highlight is the Hall of Connected Lighting, returning with about 70 leading global brands such as Signify, Casambi, and TUYA, alongside industry alliances like the Connectivity Standards Alliance and KNX, which makes its debut. Signify will partner with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team to offer a racing simulator experience, and will present Philips Sky solutions including VitaUp and BioUp technologies that mimic natural sunlight and support circadian rhythms. The new LED Display Solution Zone will foster a commercial LED display ecosystem, featuring first-time exhibitor Ledman Hong Kong, which will show its QS Series IceScreen LED Display used at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will focus on smart city development with zones for Smart Pole and Solution, Landscape and Architectural Lighting, and Outdoor, Industrial and Technical Lighting. New photovoltaic and energy storage solutions will be introduced, including Lansine Intelligent's LX-LC01 energy storage power station and foldable solar panels for off-grid applications.

A rich programme of seminars and forums will run alongside the fairs. The Innovative Lighting Design Forum on 27 October will feature speakers such as Dr Yan Liu, who contributed to lighting design for the Louvre Museum, and Adam Meredith, who worked on the Metropolitan Museum of Art. New events include "Award-Winning Illumination: Highlights from the IES Illumination Awards" and "Circularity in Lighting Design" co-organised with Women in Lighting. The Connected Lighting Forum, with the Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Association, will explore healing light for emotional well-being.

For buyers, the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model and Click2Match online platform will run from 19 October to 6 November, complemented by the Scan2Match feature in the HKTDC Marketplace App. Free buyer registration is available via https://tinyurl.com/4hfpupfe. Fair details can be found at hktdc.com/event/hklightingfairae/en and hktdc.com/event/hkotlexpo/en.

This news matters because the lighting industry is rapidly evolving towards smart, sustainable, and human-centric solutions. The fairs provide a global platform for exhibitors to launch innovations that can transform urban infrastructure, reduce energy consumption, and improve well-being. For businesses, the events offer sourcing opportunities and insights into trends like connected lighting, LED displays, and circular design. As cities worldwide invest in smart technologies, the twin fairs underscore Hong Kong's role as a hub for driving the future of lighting.
