Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) announced today that it will attend the BIO International Convention from June 22-25 in San Diego, California, as part of a broader business development program that has already generated significant interest in its proprietary DehydraTECH drug delivery platform. The company's attendance at last year's BIO convention served as a catalyst for an expanded business development program that is now starting to deliver positive results.
“We are experiencing record-high levels of business development and collaboration interest in our DehydraTECH platform, even before the upcoming BIO conference,” said Richard Christopher, CEO of Lexaria Bioscience. “New business relationships require intense energy and scientific evaluation from both prospective partners to discover the best fit possible. We are working tirelessly in this regard with the intent of generating positive developments that we can publicly discuss.”
BIO is the largest convention of its kind, with over 20,000 attendees expected from the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as supporting sectors such as investors and finance professionals. At the 2025 conference, over 66,000 partnering meetings took place. Lexaria has already begun reserving meetings and expects to be fully booked for the event given strong industry interest in DehydraTECH.
The DehydraTECH platform is Lexaria's patented drug delivery formulation and processing technology that improves how drugs enter the bloodstream through oral delivery. It has repeatedly shown the ability to increase bio-absorption, reduce side effects, and deliver some drugs more effectively across the blood-brain barrier. The company holds 65 patents granted and additional patents pending worldwide.
Lexaria's multi-faceted business development program, launched quietly to inform prospective partners of DehydraTECH's benefits, has already generated collaborative and potential business partnering discussions with a wide range of companies, from innovative smaller biotech developers to well-known global pharmaceutical giants. While many discussions are ongoing, the company continues to develop additional early-stage leads and intends to thoroughly evaluate each potential relationship to pursue those in the best interests of its shareholders.
The BIO convention represents a key opportunity for Lexaria to build on this momentum. The company will provide additional information when appropriate and as confidentiality agreements permit.
