MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) has confirmed that commercial validation drilling has advanced to the Lawson 3 well after successfully casing Lawson 2, further supporting the presence of a large natural hydrogen system at the 28-square-kilometer Lawson Complex in Saskatchewan. The company announced that Lawson 3 is being drilled about 2.2 kilometers east of Lawson 2 and 1.2 kilometers south of the original Lawson 1 discovery, a strategic placement intended to help triangulate the deposit for geological modeling by GLJ Ltd.
Data from the first two wells will be integrated to determine the optimal location for Lawson 4, with completion testing and a potential production well planned to follow. Lawson 2 recorded approximately 860 meters of continuous natural hydrogen readings, the strongest measurements to date at the project, while also confirming an extensive fracture system and favorable source rocks. The well reached a total depth of 2,440 meters and recovered 120 meters of core, including a record 89.2 meters from the Precambrian basement complex for a single Saskatchewan well.
Management said the ongoing drilling program is designed to evaluate the scale and continuity of what it believes could become the world’s first large-scale commercial natural hydrogen system, while strengthening the geological model across its broader 1,852-square-kilometer Lawson and Aurora project portfolio. This development is significant because natural hydrogen, also known as white hydrogen, is a clean energy source that could play a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions. Unlike hydrogen produced from fossil fuels, natural hydrogen is generated deep within the Earth’s crust and can be extracted directly, offering a low-cost, low-carbon alternative.
