The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Orlando has selected eight innovative women entrepreneurs as finalists for its 2025 PropelHER Pitch Competition, set to take place during the Take Flight Women's Business Conference on May 15, 2025.
The competition features finalists across three categories—NextGen, Emerging, and Established—with participants competing for cash prizes and over $18,000 in business services. The selected entrepreneurs represent a range of industries, from technology and healthcare to arts and youth development.
NextGen finalists include Line Cherrelus with Hair Hub, a mobile app supporting Black women's hair care, and Elaina Dixon's Blossoming to Broadway, a developmental program using drama therapy. Emerging category finalists feature innovative businesses like MoneyPOP, a fintech platform for beauty entrepreneurs, and Wellside Health, a telehealth provider.
The Established category showcases businesses like JK Creative, a design agency, and Leaders in Training, a youth development program. Each finalist demonstrates unique approaches to addressing community needs and driving entrepreneurial innovation.
According to Karen Kurta, Chair of the PropelHER Committee, the competition serves as a critical platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their potential and receive support. The event offers participants networking opportunities, expert panels, and potential funding connections.
By highlighting these diverse businesses, NAWBO Orlando aims to underscore the significant economic and social contributions of women-owned enterprises. The competition represents more than a contest—it's a testament to women's entrepreneurial resilience and creativity in addressing complex societal challenges.
