The Nordex Group announced today that it has secured three new orders in the United States with a combined capacity exceeding 480 megawatts (MW). The contracts involve the supply of 81 N163/5.X turbines, and the names of the customers and projects have not been disclosed. These orders are set to be delivered according to customer-specific requirements, further solidifying Nordex's footprint in the U.S. market.
Manav Sharma, CEO of Nordex North America, expressed gratitude for the trust customers have placed in the company. “These new orders reflect once again the trust our customers place in Nordex and in our ability to deliver and service projects reliably and efficiently. We are grateful for that confidence. Driven by strong customer partnerships, the dedicated execution and service capabilities of our teams, and our robust manufacturing capabilities, we are seeing continued momentum in this region,” he said. “Our focus remains on delivering value and supporting our customers’ long-term energy goals.”
The turbines for these projects will be manufactured at Nordex's production facility in Iowa, highlighting the company's commitment to local manufacturing and job creation. This development is significant as it underscores the ongoing demand for wind energy in the United States, which continues to be a key driver in the transition to renewable energy sources. The orders also reflect Nordex's competitive position in the market, particularly in the onshore wind segment, where it offers turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes designed for regions with limited space and constrained grid capacity.
Nordex Group has been active in the wind industry since 1985 and has commissioned over 64 GW of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets. In 2025, the company generated consolidated sales of approximately EUR 7.6 billion. With a global workforce exceeding 11,100 employees and manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the USA, Nordex continues to expand its global reach. The company is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, reflecting its financial stability and market standing.
These new orders are likely to have a positive impact on the U.S. renewable energy sector, contributing to the nation's growing installed wind capacity. For the industry, this signals continued investment in wind power, which is crucial for meeting climate goals and reducing carbon emissions. For the local economy, the manufacturing in Iowa supports jobs and economic activity in the region. Moreover, the undisclosed nature of the customers and projects suggests that Nordex is engaging with a diverse range of clients, from utilities to independent power producers, further diversifying its portfolio.
The announcement comes at a time when the U.S. wind industry is experiencing robust growth, driven by favorable policies and declining costs. Nordex's ability to secure these orders demonstrates its reliability and the quality of its technology. As the company continues to focus on delivering value and supporting customers' long-term energy goals, these projects will contribute to the overall expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in the United States.
