Winston Law has selected KC Hines-Smith as the recipient of its second annual scholarship dedicated to reducing stigmas within the justice system. The $2,500 award recognizes Hines-Smith's exceptional commitment to legal reform and advocacy.
Hines-Smith, a graduate student from Orlando, Florida, is currently pursuing an MBA at Western Governors University and a Master's in FinTech at the University of Central Florida. His academic journey is driven by a deeply personal mission to create a more equitable legal system, inspired by a close friend's experience with a wrongful accusation.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Hines-Smith is actively engaged in community initiatives, leading programs focused on back-to-school drives, financial literacy seminars, and mentorship for underserved youth. These efforts demonstrate his holistic approach to addressing systemic inequities.
The scholarship will support Hines-Smith's future goals, which include attending law school and continuing his mother's legacy through Hines-Smith Law, a practice centered on advocacy and compassion. By providing financial support, Winston Law aims to empower students who are committed to transforming the justice system.
