Outamation Integrates Equifax Soft-Pull Credit Data to Help Servicers Retain Performing Loans

Outamation, an AI-native mortgage operations technology company, announced that Equifax consumer credit data is now integrated into its OutamateMods platform, giving loan servicers a new tool to identify performing borrowers who may be good candidates for a loan modification. The integration is live today for OutamateMods clients.

The move comes as refinance activity remains low due to the current rate environment, but Outamation expects that to change once rates fall. By preparing now, servicers can react on day one of a refinance wave, offering qualified consumers opportunities to improve their cash flow while helping servicers maintain their portfolios.

With the integration, servicers gain Equifax soft-pull credit data inside OutamateMods and across the Outamation platform. They also get portfolio retention review to identify performing borrowers who are candidates for a modification, end-to-end execution in OutamateMods from eligibility through documents and closing, and support for retention and recapture programs, including performing loan modifications for portfolio loans.

“The time to build a retention program is before the next refinance wave, not during it,” said Ron Morton, Chief Revenue Officer at Outamation. “Keeping a borrower costs far less than winning one back, so having the tools in place now to prepare is a critical step to create compelling offers for consumers quickly.”

Carrie Doyle, VP of Business Development, Digital Alliances for Mortgage & Housing at Equifax, added, “Mortgage servicers need timely insights to help match borrowers with the right loan. Bringing Equifax soft-pull credit data into OutamateMods puts that insight directly inside the retention workflow. It helps servicers act sooner and serve borrowers better.”

The integration is significant for the mortgage servicing industry because it addresses a persistent challenge: retaining borrowers who might otherwise refinance elsewhere when rates decline. By embedding credit data directly into the retention workflow, servicers can proactively identify borrowers who would benefit from a modification and execute the process seamlessly. This could help servicers reduce churn and protect their portfolios, while borrowers gain access to potential savings and improved cash flow. The announcement also highlights the growing role of AI and data integration in mortgage operations, as companies seek to streamline processes and improve customer outcomes.
