The PNE Group has received the necessary permits under the German Federal Immission Control Act for two wind energy projects in Germany during the fourth quarter of 2025. These permits mark a significant development in the country's renewable energy expansion, with the combined projects representing 54 megawatts of clean energy capacity that will power thousands of households once operational.
For the Thuringian wind farm 'Am Heilborn,' which consists of sections I and II, the company plans to erect five Vestas V172 wind turbines with a nominal output of 7.2 MW each. This configuration will give the wind farm a total nominal output of 36.0 MW. The second project involves the repowering of the Hassendorf wind farm in Lower Saxony, where PNE has received a permit for an additional Vestas V150 wind turbine with a nominal output of 6 MW. This follows two turbines of the same type that were permitted in June 2025, bringing the fully permitted project to three turbines with a total output of 18 MW.
Once commissioned, these wind farms will be able to cover the annual electricity needs of approximately 24,600 three-person households. This capacity represents a meaningful contribution to sustainable energy supply and supports Germany's broader energy transition objectives in the respective regions. The projects demonstrate how established renewable energy developers are advancing Germany's climate goals through both new installations and the modernization of existing infrastructure.
"The current permits are an important step for our growing project portfolio in Germany," said Roland Stanze, COO of PNE AG. "They demonstrate our high level of expertise in complex permit procedures and lay the foundation for the further expansion of our own generation capacities and our commitment to an economical and sustainable energy transition." The PNE Group, which is listed on the SDAX, has been operating in the renewable energy sector for more than 30 years and is recognized as one of the most experienced project developers in both onshore and offshore wind farms. This development is important because it represents tangible progress in Germany's energy transition at a time when European nations are accelerating their shift away from fossil fuels. The 54 MW of new capacity will displace carbon-intensive energy sources while providing reliable electricity to residential consumers. For the renewable energy industry, these permits validate PNE's project development capabilities and suggest continued momentum in Germany's wind energy sector despite regulatory challenges.
