Polymath and CineCity Studios Explore Tokenized Film Investment Platform

Polymath, a provider of enterprise-grade infrastructure for regulated digital securities and tokenized financial instruments, announced a collaboration with CineCity Studios to explore the development of a technology-enabled investment platform for film and entertainment investors. The proposed platform would use blockchain technology to tokenize film investments, potentially making it easier for investors to participate in film financing.

Under the proposed structure, Polymath would serve as the technology partner for a tokenized film investment vehicle, providing infrastructure for digital securities issuance, investor onboarding, compliance workflows, investor management, and administration of tokenized interests. The investment strategy is expected to evaluate opportunities across the film-finance lifecycle and a range of financing structures, with final parameters, structure, and offering terms subject to legal, regulatory, and commercial review.

CineCity operates a 140,000-square-foot film and television production facility in Chicago. The collaboration aims to leverage Polymath's expertise in tokenization to create a compliant and efficient investment platform for film projects. This could open up new avenues for funding in the entertainment industry, which has traditionally relied on more conventional financing methods.

The news comes on the heels of Polymath's announcement on August 18, 2026, that it has agreed to be acquired by TruGolf Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRUG), a transaction expected to bring Polymath's purpose-built blockchain and tokenization infrastructure to the U.S. public markets, subject to customary closing conditions. This acquisition could provide additional resources and credibility to Polymath's endeavors, including the collaboration with CineCity.

Tokenization of film investments could democratize access to the film industry, allowing a broader range of investors to participate in financing films and potentially share in their profits. However, regulatory compliance remains a critical consideration, and the proposed platform will need to navigate complex securities laws. Polymath's enterprise-grade infrastructure is designed to handle such compliance requirements, which could make the platform more attractive to both issuers and investors.

The collaboration between Polymath and CineCity is still in the exploratory phase, and no definitive agreements have been announced. Nevertheless, it signals a growing interest in applying blockchain technology to traditional industries like film production. If successful, this could pave the way for similar initiatives in other entertainment sectors.
