Puerto Rico's Day at the Ballpark, a nationwide series celebrating the island's deep connection to baseball, continues its 2026 tour with three upcoming events in Colorado, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Presented by Discover Puerto Rico and produced by 21 Events, the series honors Puerto Rican players and brings the island's baseball culture to fans across the United States.
The series will visit Coors Field in Colorado on August 18, Rate Field in Chicago on August 22, and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on August 23. Each event will feature in-stadium experiences, player recognition, and Puerto Rico-themed elements, building on a tradition that has celebrated the island's baseball history since 2023.
At Coors Field, the Colorado Rockies will host the celebration, recognizing Willi Castro and Coach Andy González. Planned activities include a first pitch by Benjamin Oaks, owner of Aguanile, Denver's first Puerto Rican dinner club, along with an on-field presentation, scoreboard tributes, and fan engagement activities.
In Chicago, the event will coincide with the New York Mets' visit to the Chicago White Sox. Legendary ballplayer Roberto Hernandez will be honored, and award-winning Puerto Rican chef Monti Carlo will throw the first pitch. The celebration will also include on-field presentations and various in-stadium activations highlighting Puerto Rico's contributions to baseball.
In Los Angeles, Kiké Hernández and Edwin Diaz will be recognized. Puerto Rican model, actress, and former Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2020 Estefanía Soto will throw the first pitch. The event will feature an on-field presentation and additional experiences connecting fans with Puerto Rico's baseball tradition. All stadiums will display a 60-second scoreboard video showcasing the island's beauty and heritage.
Jorge L. Pérez, CEO of Discover Puerto Rico, emphasized the island's enduring legacy in baseball, noting that Carlos Beltrán recently became Puerto Rico's sixth inductee into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. “Puerto Rico's relationship with baseball is rooted in generations of players who have competed at the highest level and represented our Island with tremendous pride,” Pérez said.
The series also offers fans a chance to experience Puerto Rico firsthand through the Ballpark to Island Giveaway. The prize includes a trip for two with airfare, hotel accommodations, and special experiences. No purchase is necessary, and the contest is open to U.S. residents aged 18 and over.
Ralph Paniagua, Managing Director of 21 Events, highlighted the series' unique approach. “One of the things that makes this series special is the opportunity to tell different stories in every city,” he said. “Puerto Rico's baseball history isn't defined by one player, one generation or one ballpark. Our players have made an impact across the game, and these events allow us to recognize those contributions in front of the fans and communities that remember them.”
Since its debut in 2023, Puerto Rico's Day at the Ballpark has grown into a signature national series. Following the August events, the 2026 series will continue in September for its final scheduled stop of the season.
