Quantum BioPharma is progressing two distinct approaches—an investigational MS therapy and a dietary supplement—to address neurological and alcohol-related conditions, with recent regulatory and clinical milestones.
Quantum BioPharma Advances Dual Strategy Targeting Neurological Health and Alcohol Misuse

Quantum BioPharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM) is advancing a two-pronged strategy to tackle neurological health, focusing on both a potential treatment for multiple sclerosis and a consumer product designed to mitigate the effects of alcohol. The biopharmaceutical company is developing Lucid-MS, an investigational therapy for multiple sclerosis, and unbuzzd, a proprietary dietary supplement aimed at supporting alcohol metabolism and reducing acute intoxication and hangover effects.

Lucid-MS is designed to target PAD2, an enzyme associated with myelin degradation. Unlike many existing MS treatments that primarily modulate the immune system, Lucid-MS aims to protect and potentially restore the myelin sheath, which is the protective covering of nerve fibers that is damaged in multiple sclerosis. The company has submitted an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a Phase 2 trial, and is supporting the development through an imaging collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital. This collaboration is expected to provide critical data on the drug's effects on myelin integrity.

In a separate initiative, Quantum BioPharma's unbuzzd is an over-the-counter supplement that the company says can support the body's natural alcohol metabolism. The company cites results from a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial that demonstrated its efficacy in reducing acute intoxication and hangover symptoms. Quantum BioPharma has spun out the OTC version of unbuzzd to a new company, Unbuzzd Wellness Inc. (UWI), led by industry veterans. Quantum BioPharma retains a 19.84% ownership stake in UWI as of March 31, 2026, and is entitled to royalty payments of 7% of sales from unbuzzd until total payments reach $250 million, after which the royalty rate drops to 3% in perpetuity. The company also retains 100% of the rights to develop pharmaceutical or medical formulations of similar products.

The dual approach reflects a broader strategy to address both chronic neurological conditions and acute lifestyle-related health issues. For multiple sclerosis, the potential to repair myelin rather than just slow its destruction could represent a significant shift in treatment paradigms. For unbuzzd, the product taps into a growing consumer interest in health and wellness, particularly among those who want to mitigate the negative effects of alcohol consumption.

Quantum BioPharma is committed to building a portfolio of innovative assets and biotech solutions for challenging neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders, as well as alcohol misuse disorders. The company's lead compound, Lucid-MS, is a patented new chemical entity that has shown in preclinical models the ability to prevent and reverse myelin degradation, the underlying mechanism of multiple sclerosis.

The company's progress on both fronts is part of its broader mission to address significant unmet medical needs. As Quantum BioPharma continues to advance its pipeline, the outcomes of its clinical trials and commercial partnerships will be closely watched by investors and the medical community alike.
