Quantum BioPharma Executive Details Lucid-MS Development and Commercial Growth Plans

Quantum BioPharma (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM), a biopharmaceutical company focused on advancing innovative therapies, recently outlined its development strategy for Lucid-MS and commercial growth plans for unbuzzd during an interview on the BioMedWire Podcast. Executive Co-Chairman and Co-Founder Anthony Durkacz discussed the company’s lead drug candidate for multiple sclerosis, Lucid-MS, which aims to address mobility damage associated with the disease. The company has filed an investigational new drug application for a Phase 2 clinical trial, which could mark the first administration of Lucid-MS to human MS patients.

Durkacz also highlighted unbuzzd, a commercially available product designed to accelerate alcohol metabolism, underscoring Quantum BioPharma’s strategy of combining clinical-stage pharmaceutical development with commercial opportunities across neurodegenerative, metabolic, and alcohol-misuse conditions. The company retains ownership of 19.84% of Unbuzzd Wellness Inc. (UWI), as of March 31, 2026, and benefits from a royalty agreement: 7% of sales from unbuzzd until payments total $250 million, after which the royalty drops to 3% in perpetuity. Quantum BioPharma retains 100% of the rights to develop similar products for pharmaceutical and medical uses.

Lucid-MS, a patented new chemical entity, has shown the ability to prevent and reverse myelin degradation in preclinical models, which is the underlying mechanism of multiple sclerosis. The progression to Phase 2 trials represents a significant milestone for the drug candidate and for patients suffering from MS, a condition that affects millions worldwide.

The company’s dual focus on both a clinical-stage asset and a commercial product provides a diversified revenue stream and mitigates risk. While Lucid-MS offers long-term potential in the neurodegenerative disease market, unbuzzd generates near-term revenue and validates the company’s platform.

Quantum BioPharma continues to build a portfolio of innovative assets for challenging neurodegenerative, metabolic, and alcohol misuse disorders.
