Quantum BioPharma Reaches Midpoint in MS Imaging Study, Preliminary Data Show Promise

Quantum BioPharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM) has reached the halfway point in patient enrollment for its pilot multiple sclerosis (MS) imaging study conducted with Massachusetts General Hospital. Preliminary PET imaging data from the study show encouraging signals in acute MS lesions, according to a recent article. The novel imaging technique is designed to distinguish demyelinated nerve fibers that may still be viable from permanent nerve damage, potentially offering a more precise way to measure myelin loss and repair.

These findings are directly relevant to Lucid-MS, the company’s investigational compound designed to inhibit demyelination by targeting the enzyme PAD2, which is implicated in myelin degradation. The combination of a more precise imaging tool and a drug candidate addressing the underlying cause of MS is compelling. Reaching the enrollment midpoint with promising early data suggests the science is holding up under real clinical conditions.

Quantum BioPharma is a biopharmaceutical company focused on building a portfolio of innovative assets for treating challenging neurodegenerative, metabolic, and alcohol misuse disorders. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Lucid Psycheceuticals Inc., the company is developing Lucid-MS, a patented new chemical entity shown to prevent and reverse myelin degradation in preclinical models. The company also invented unbuzzd and spun out its OTC version to Unbuzzd Wellness Inc., retaining a 19.84% ownership stake as of March 31, 2026. The agreement includes royalty payments of 7% of sales from unbuzzd until payments total $250 million, after which the royalty drops to 3% in perpetuity. Quantum BioPharma retains 100% of the rights to develop similar products for pharmaceutical and medical uses.
