The third annual RALLY conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, will host the world's first vibe coding competition, challenging 12 teams of developers to showcase their innovative approach to AI-powered code generation. Teams will compete for a $10,000 cash prize during a live, overnight coding event on September 24-25, 2025.
The competition reflects the rapidly evolving landscape of software development, where artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly significant role. Recent data from Y Combinator indicates that a quarter of their startup cohort has generated approximately 95% of their codebases using generative AI technologies.
Christopher Day, CEO of Elevate Ventures and RALLY Visionary, emphasized the competition's purpose of inspiring creativity and pushing technological boundaries. Participants will face unexpected challenges during the event, which begins at 12:00 p.m. EST and includes strategic breaks and a networking happy hour.
A distinguished panel of judges will evaluate submissions, with the top three finalist teams presenting their projects on the Main Stage. The winning team will be awarded the $10,000 prize, recognizing their innovative approach to leveraging AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in software development.
The vibe coding competition is part of RALLY's broader mission to foster cross-sector innovation, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and educators across six innovation studios: software, agriculture and food, healthcare, sports, hardtech, and entrepreneurship.
