Rare 1959 Fiat-Abarth 750 GT Zagato Showcases Automotive Design Excellence

A rare 1959 Fiat-Abarth 750 GT Zagato has found its home at the DFW Car & Toy Museum, offering automotive enthusiasts a glimpse into the golden era of European sports car design. The vehicle, meticulously crafted with hand-formed aluminum bodywork by legendary coachbuilder Zagato, represents a pinnacle of mid-century automotive engineering and design innovation.

The car's unique features include a distinctive double-bubble roof, which enhances both aerodynamics and driver comfort, along with twin rear intake scoops and aluminum bumperettes. Powered by a four-speed manual transmission and featuring a specialized PBS finned oil sump for enhanced cooling, the 750 GT was designed for high-performance driving and competitive racing.

With a notable racing pedigree that includes a class win in the 1957 Mille Miglia, this Fiat-Abarth model exemplifies the engineering prowess of post-war European motorsports. Production of the vehicle concluded in 1960, making surviving models increasingly rare and valuable to collectors.

Ron Sturgeon, founder of the museum, views the car as more than just a vintage automobile. The vehicle now joins over 200 other vehicles in the museum's collection, offering visitors an immersive experience into automotive history.
