SBF AG, a listed specialist for innovative solutions in rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology, is accelerating innovation in its "Sensor Technology and Electromechanics" business segment. The company has introduced two field-tested product innovations: the enhanced Automatic Label Feeder (ALF) and the automatic optical inspection system INSPECT. Both solutions were developed within SBF's own production operations and are now being commercialized as market-ready products for industrial customers with comparable requirements.
Robert Stocklinger, Member of the Management Board of SBF AG, emphasized the strategic importance of these developments: "We are now even better positioned for the future with these product developments. INSPECT takes quality assurance in electronics manufacturing to a new level of automation. Solutions with high customer value and clear efficiency potential are exactly the kind of innovation with which the SBF Group aims to grow."
The enhanced ALF sets a new standard for precise, reliable labeling in industrial manufacturing. Originally developed for in-house electronics production, ALF has evolved into an independent product line due to strong customer demand. The latest enhancement enables fully automated labeling of glass vials, opening up new industries such as pharmaceuticals, laboratory diagnostics, and fine chemicals. The platform architecture of ALF allows flexible adaptation to different production processes, creating a basis for further growth.
INSPECT, the new optical inspection system, automates quality inspection of electronic assemblies after SMD assembly. It uses a high-resolution camera to capture assembled printed circuit boards, with software that independently identifies fiducial marks, component positions, and orientations. The system reads all standard barcode and 2D code formats and automatically documents inspection results. Set up within minutes, INSPECT retains calibration and operating data during updates and maintains stable, robust operation even in the event of hardware failures.
These product innovations exemplify SBF's development approach: new technologies initially created to optimize its own manufacturing processes are now generating additional sales and growth potential. By commercializing these solutions, SBF strengthens its product portfolio and reinforces its technological expertise in the megatrends of automation and digitalization, benefiting all business segments.
The SBF Group, listed on the stock exchange, is a specialist for innovative solutions in rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology. Within the Group, highly specialized hidden champions combine their expertise. SBF benefits from the megatrends of mobility, climate protection, automation, and digitalization through a high-quality and forward-looking product and service portfolio.
