Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ: WRAP), a global leader in non-lethal public safety technologies, has been selected by WOFT Charities ("WOFT") to provide training support for the WOFT Teacher Safety Training Program. The program, which received a $475,000 appropriation in Florida's fiscal year 2026-27 state budget, aims to equip teachers, administrators, and other school personnel with practical safety and preparedness skills.
The training will focus on situational awareness, threat recognition, early intervention, de-escalation, and avoiding physical confrontation whenever possible. It will include real-world scenarios and practical self-defense instruction tailored for the educational environment. The appropriation was made to WOFT, with WRAP receiving a portion based on services provided. The company clarified that this should not be interpreted as a direct $475,000 award or future revenue to WRAP.
In addition to the training support, WRAP has exclusive access to WOFT's training facility, which is being developed as a national flagship environment for integrated WRAP training. This partnership could serve as a model that expands beyond education into law enforcement, private security, military, and other professional safety environments, as well as private citizens. The company envisions eventually incorporating a digital training ecosystem that supports continuous learning, recurring proficiency, and certification.
This initiative aligns with WRAP's broader mission to provide safer, scalable, and cost-effective technologies for public safety. The company's portfolio includes the BolaWrap 150, a non-lethal restraint device that deploys a multi-sensory distraction to create time and distance during critical incidents. Used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries, BolaWrap is backed by training certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
WRAP also offers Wrap Reality, an immersive virtual reality training simulator designed to enhance decision-making under stress for first responders. Additionally, WrapVision, a body-worn camera and evidence management system, aims to ensure data integrity and security with a made-in-America roadmap projected for early 2026.
This collaboration with WOFT could have significant implications for school safety across Florida and potentially nationwide. By equipping educators with non-lethal de-escalation techniques and situational awareness skills, the program aims to reduce the risk of violence in schools. If successful, the model could be replicated in other states, expanding WRAP's market reach and reinforcing the importance of non-lethal approaches in public safety.
The training program is part of a growing trend toward proactive safety measures in educational settings. By focusing on early intervention and de-escalation, the initiative addresses the need to protect both students and staff without resorting to more forceful measures. WRAP's involvement brings a technology-driven approach that could set a new standard for teacher training programs.
As the program launches, stakeholders will be watching to see how effectively it translates into improved safety outcomes in Florida schools. The partnership also highlights the potential for public-private collaborations to address complex social challenges.
