Space Dinosaurs Completes Multi-Brand Shopify Migration for Black Forest Decor, Lone Star Western Decor, and Bella Coastal Decor

Space Dinosaurs, a digital commerce agency, announced today the successful migration of Black Forest Decor, Lone Star Western Decor, and Bella Coastal Decor to Shopify. The project, completed on time and on budget in approximately three months, modernizes the ecommerce infrastructure for all three brands, positioning them for future growth with improved performance and operational agility.

Building on a trusted partnership spanning more than five years with Black Forest Decor, Space Dinosaurs delivered a full platform transition that included frontend implementation, theme development, data migration, systems integration, and launch execution across all three storefronts. The migration consolidated and modernized the ecommerce infrastructure, providing a scalable and flexible commerce platform designed to support future growth, with a focus on performance optimization, conversion rate optimization (CRO), operational agility, and improved customer experiences.

“Our focus was to create a streamlined and scalable Shopify ecosystem that gives these brands greater flexibility and a stronger foundation for long-term ecommerce growth,” said Boris Wexler, Space Dinosaurs’ CEO. “Migrating to Shopify allows the teams to move faster operationally while delivering a more modern and optimized shopping experience for customers.”

The project leveraged Shopify’s architecture to standardize and modernize the frontend experience while enabling greater flexibility for merchandising, promotions, content management, and future enhancements. Key components included migration to Shopify, Horizon theme implementation across all three brands, frontend modernization and UX optimization, custom multi-add-to-cart template development, product/customer/order data migration, third-party integration support, mobile and performance optimization, SEO preservation and URL transition planning, and multi-site operational alignment and launch support.

By transitioning to Shopify, the brands gained access to a more agile commerce platform capable of supporting faster updates, streamlined operations, and future scalability initiatives. The migration also positions the businesses to more efficiently support seasonal merchandising strategies, promotional campaigns, and ongoing ecommerce innovation without the limitations of their previous platform environment.

“Space Dinosaurs has been a trusted partner to our business for more than five years, and this migration was another example of their ability to execute complex ecommerce initiatives quickly and effectively,” said Dustin Dupus, Chief Operating Officer at Black Forest Decor. “The team delivered all three Shopify launches in an aggressive timeline while staying on budget, and the new platform gives us a much stronger foundation for future growth, merchandising flexibility, and customer experience improvements.”

As ecommerce brands continue to prioritize flexibility, speed-to-market, and operational simplicity, platform modernization initiatives have become increasingly important for long-term digital growth strategies. The successful launch of the three Shopify storefronts reflects a broader trend among specialty retailers investing in modern commerce platforms to improve both internal efficiency and customer experience.
