Storyshares and Noah Text Partner to Create Accessible Reading Solutions for Struggling Readers

Storyshares and Noah Text have collaborated to develop an innovative approach to helping adolescents who struggle with reading grade-level text. The partnership has resulted in 36 Storyshares books being converted to Noah Text®, a specialized text format designed to make reading more accessible for striving readers, those with dyslexia, and multilingual learners.

The joint effort addresses a critical gap in literacy education by providing books that are both culturally inclusive and linguistically supportive. Noah Text® uses an evidence-based method that visually reveals word structures, helping readers decode complex and multisyllabic words more easily. This approach is grounded in reading science and recommended by structured literacy specialists.

The books will be distributed through multiple channels, including Noah Text's retail bookstore, Ingram's wholesale network, and direct sales to K-12 school districts. Additionally, Noah Text offers free conversion tools like a Chrome extension that transforms web pages into their accessible text format.

This collaboration is significant because it provides a practical solution for students beyond third grade who struggle with reading. By making text more navigable, the partnership aims to improve reading fluency, accuracy, and confidence, ultimately supporting students in becoming lifelong readers.

The approach is particularly noteworthy for its potential applications in diverse educational settings. Noah Text can be included as a modification in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans for dyslexic students, and the company has already developed specialized software to improve literacy in secondary schools and correctional facilities.
