Stupid Cancer Announces CancerCon Live 2024 in Austin, Texas

Stupid Cancer, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering everyone affected by adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer, is set to host CancerCon Live 2024 in Austin, Texas for the first time. Scheduled from August 15-18, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Austin, the event aims to gather hundreds of young adult cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates from across the nation to share experiences, gain valuable insights and resources, and build lasting connections.

Alison Silberman, CEO of Stupid Cancer, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “We look forward to creating an unforgettable experience that empowers young adults affected by cancer and helps them connect with others who truly understand their journey.”

CancerCon Live serves as the premier annual gathering for the AYA cancer community, offering a blend of education, support, and empowerment. The 2024 event in Austin will feature:

• Keynote Speakers: Esteemed voices in the AYA cancer community, including survivors, healthcare professionals, and advocates, will share their stories and insights on topics like advancements in cancer treatment and survivorship challenges.

• Workshops and Panels: Interactive sessions tailored to the unique needs of AYA cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers will cover a range of topics including mental health, fertility preservation, advocacy, and career development.

• Meet the AYA Community: Attendees will have dedicated time to connect with peers, build lasting friendships, and expand their support networks in a supportive and inclusive environment.

• Exhibit Hall: Participants can explore resources, products, and services from leading organizations committed to supporting the AYA cancer community, as well as offerings from local small businesses.

• Social Events: Engaging social activities designed to foster connections and create memorable experiences, incorporating elements of Austin's local flavor.

• Local Excursions: Opportunities to explore Austin’s unique attractions, including Bat Watching under Congress Bridge and unlimited Skee-Ball at Full Circle Bar, while engaging in meaningful activities that support personal and collective growth.

For over a decade, Stupid Cancer has united patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates, and health professionals at CancerCon, the largest gathering of the AYA community. The event now takes place both online and offline, providing an immersive experience led by transformative connection and education. While the majority of attendees are AYA (ages 15-39) cancer patients and survivors, caregivers and health professionals of all ages are also welcome. CancerCon Live is hosted in different US cities each year to make the event accessible to the community.
