Romanella shares a personal story from his career when UPS acquired Mailboxes Etc. He was a district manager given the assignment to manage the integration, a role far beyond his experience. He recalls that AI would never have picked him for the role based on data, but his CEO and COO used a different metric: AIAI, or "Am I All In?" They needed someone with strategic vision, the ability to drive change, and the capacity to lead people through uncertainty. They told him, "We have faith in you. Be yourself. Learn first, question second." That belief changed his trajectory, reinforcing that leaders can see something in you before you see it in yourself.
